  • In this third photo the male wakes, mouth open and paw raised. It's like he is saying who do I have to take care of. Within a few seconds after the threat has been assessed, they both go back to sleep.
  • In this photo you can see the male trying to decide what she is doing.
  • While this photo certianly isn't clear, I sort of like it. The snow was falling hard, but they still have time to gaze into each others eyes.
  • This Grizzley had just come out of the Lamar Canyon into the valley when he decided to chase these bison. He was after a calf but unsuccessfull.
  • This Photo shows a female lion in Kruger chasing a giraffe. she does not catch the Giraffe, nor do I think that she expected to. A large giraffe is not often a single lions prey.
  • This is a second photo of the same chase. The rest of the pride did not participate. I really think she was just chasing the giraffe, because she could.
  • In this photo the the female has made up her mind and has started to slowly cross the stream. The male still isn't sure.
  • This male along with the female in the river stood on the bank for several minutes before entering the water. The stream is part of the Sabi near lower sabi camp. The photo was taken at about 1/2 mile. The male did soon follow the female across. But as you can see he wasn't all that happy.
  • This is one of the three females seen on the impala kill. she was lying above the river with the young male in the rocks below her. Note three cubs. It was estimated that at most they are only a couple of weeks old. This shot was taken at a distance of approximately 500 yards.

  • Cub starts wandering off
  • The mother picks up this cub and puts him in the bush and then goes and takes a nap.
  • Note that now there are two cubs
  • She is just getting up. All cubs are still in the picture
  • Mom picks the cub up by the neck to put it in the den.
