Jackal

All of the photos in this gallery are of the black backed jackal. They are a small animal weighing approximately 15 to 18 pounds. The side striped jackal is somewhat bigger. They are often hunted by farmers as a pest throughout this part of Africa, somewhat like the North American coyote.
