The African wild dog is a diurnal animal that is very social. (to its own kind) They live in close family groups and hunt together as a pack. (similar to the grey wolf) They run down their prey normally small to medium antelope. One pair mates and has up to a dozen pups. These pups are taken care of by the entire group. The adults will bring back and regurgitate food for the pups. This animal is endangered and to see them is a real treat.
